We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Maintenance Operative/Supervisor at Lymington New Forest Hospital.
Our maintenance business provides a range of expert planned and responsive maintenance services to domestic properties and commercial buildings in the social housing, health, and social care sectors. We look after a growing number of healthcare buildings for NHS Trusts, residential homes, and educational facilities. Using the latest technology, we ensure properties are well maintained, efficient, and fit for purpose.
Job Purpose
As Lead Maintenance Operative/Supervisor, you will be hands-on, performing daily site maintenance duties as part of our responsive repairs and PPM (planned and preventative maintenance) programme.
In addition to day-to-day maintenance duties, the preferred candidate will act as a focal point for external contractors, organising and arranging planned maintenance visits where necessary. You will also manage site files to ensure statutory and technical compliance, safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures are met on site.
This position would suit an experienced maintenance engineer seeking career progression while remaining hands-on.
The position is based at Lymington Hospital, a busy inpatient hospital facility. Lymington Community Hospital was built by Rydon Construction under a PFI contract, and since service commencement in 2006, Rydon Maintenance has provided Hard Facilities Management services at the hospital, including Planned Preventative and Reactive Maintenance.
Normal working hours are 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. You will also participate in an on-call rota system, which offers the opportunity to increase earnings and be involved in urgent repairs.

This role offers a varied combination of site supervisory and maintenance duties.
Experience Required
* Previous plant room maintenance experience
* Experience at supervisory level within a maintenance organisation is preferred
* Experience supporting NHS clients is ideal; however, candidates with strong commercial experience in hotels, schools, supermarkets, etc., that can be translated to NHS work will also be considered
* Technical knowledge of M&E building services maintenance and Health & Safety procedures in daily site operations
* Strong customer service approach and excellent interpersonal skills
* Good IT skills (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel)
* A full UK driving license is required
