Paediatric Nursery Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an NVQ level 3 Nursery Nurse or equivalent to join our team in the paediatric Emergency department
The Nursery Nurse will work alongside other the Multi disciplinary team to provide clinical care to the children and young people attending the department.
Main duties of the job
To provide an effective and friendly service to all that come through The Paediatric Emergency Department
To monitor the children's observations
To provide appropriate play and activities for the Children and Young People passing through the department including the use of distraction for some procedures such as blood taking.

The Nursery Nurses are a valid member to our team and child development experience is essential to the role.
The hours will be rostered to meet the needs of the service to ensure all clinics are covered.
Job responsibilities
* To provide an effective and friendly service to all that come through The Paediatric Emergency Department
* To carry out and record growth measurements
* To carry out and record some Points of Care testing after training
* To assist in the development of a child and young person friendly environment
* To assess the children through undertaking observations
* To provide appropriate play and activities for the Children and Young
* To assist with distraction for procedures
Person Specification
Qualifications
* B.TEC in Nursery Nursing Level 3 or equivalent
Experience
* Working within paediatric NHS acute Environment
Skills
* Broad Knowledge base
* Ability to demonstrate evidence of applying theory to practice
* Flexibility to meet the needs of the paediatric service
* Ability to work effectively within the team
* Good interpersonal skills
* Ability to use assertive behaviour appropriately
* Good IT Skills
* Broad range of expanded roles
