Job Title: Health & Safety Coordinator
Location: Coleford, Forest of Dean, UK
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary: £30k - £34k (DOE) + Benefits
HRGO Recruitment is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator on behalf of our FMCG Manufacturing client based in the Coleford, Forest of Dean.
About the Role:
This role is crucial in driving a safety-first culture across the Manufacturing site while also supporting Quality Control functions. As part of the QHSE Team, you will ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while also assisting with quality assurance to maintain high operational standards.
Key Responsibilities of Health and Safety Coordinator:
Health & Safety
* Lead and promote a safety-first culture across the site.
* Coach teams to complete thorough risk assessments and support them in taking action to close identified risks effectively.
* Perform regular health & safety inspections and audits to ensure compliance with legal and company standards.
* Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents, identifying root causes and implementing corrective actions.
* Ensure compliance with HSE policies, delivering training and toolbox talks as required.
* Maintain accurate H&S documentation, ensuring records are up to date.
* Collaborate with managers and employees to drive continuous improvements in safety practices.
Compliance & Quality Support
* Assist production with performing routine Quality Assurance checks across the manufacturing site.
* Assist with internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with BRC, GMP, and customer standards.
* Support regulatory audits, ensuring all required documentation is in place.
* Monitor and enforce hygiene and cleanliness standards within the production environment.
* Provide Quality & Safety training to production staff as needed.
* Maintain QA Lab housekeeping
Who We're Looking For:
Experience & Qualifications:
* Previous experience in Health & Safety within a manufacturing or FMCG environment.
IOSH / NEBOSH Certificate (or working towards) or equivalent H&S qualification is desirable.
* Experience with Quality Assurance processes is a plus.
* Internal auditing experience is advantageous.

* Passionate about Health & Safety with a proactive and hands-on approach.
* Confident, able to challenge and influence at all levels.
* Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues effectively.
* Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
* Strong communication skills, able to engage and train staff.
* Flexible, reliable, and open to training & development
