Overview:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Security Architect to join our R&D team. The Security Architect will define the technical direction and standards for product security and customer implementations, ensuring all products adhere to secure-by-design principles. The role includes technical ownership of cybersecurity initiatives, including our Intrusion Detection Solution portfolio, and opportunities for hands-on prototyping of new security, authentication, and identity management solutions.
You can work from our Newcastle office or remotely, with occasional travel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct security reviews and assessments of new and existing products and services
2. Assess security requirements for customer projects
3. Contribute to secure architecture design
4. Develop and maintain the Secure-by-Design development approach and company policies
5. Implement and maintain security features on products and platforms
6. Create security guidance documentation
7. Participate in selecting future security products
8. Perform internal penetration testing and vulnerability research
9. Provide security training and outreach to internal teams
10. Develop security, authentication, and identity management tools
Qualifications & Experience:
1. Degree in computer science or engineering
2. Knowledge of security design principles such as OWASP
3. Understanding of security standards like EN62443
4. Experience with security solutions including IDS and SIEM
5. Knowledge of network and web protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS, routing protocols)
6. Understanding of web services, mobile apps, cryptography, and penetration testing
7. Experience with Linux-based systems
8. Some software coding experience
9. Excellent communication skills
10. Teamwork and resourcefulness
11. Experience with vulnerability scanning tools like Nessus is advantageous
12. Strong ownership, motivation, analytical skills, and design ability
13. Problem-solving skills with a methodical approach
14. Ability to prioritize and manage workload independently
15. Clear documentation and training skills
16. Team-oriented mindset to support quality solutions
