About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Settlements Manager to lead and optimise our settlements and liquidity across the Argentex Group. This role is critical in ensuring the efficiency, accuracy, and risk management of FX settlements, cash management, and liquidity strategies.
Beyond managing day-to-day operations, this individual will be responsible for setting global best practices across the Group, driving innovation in payment operations, and ensuring robust compliance with evolving regulatory frameworks. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in helping to shape Argentex’s payment roadmap, enhancing automation, and ensuring best-in-class risk and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee and enhance the FX settlements process, ensuring timely and accurate execution of settlement of trades and payments.
* Establish and implement global best practices for settlements across the Group, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
* Manage relationships with banking and payment partners to optimise transaction processing.
* Ensure best practices in trade confirmation, payment execution, and reconciliation.
* Drive automation and system improvements to enhance efficiency and scalability.
* Optimise liquidity across multiple currencies and jurisdictions.
* Monitor and manage funding requirements, ensuring optimal cash flow management.
* Oversee settlement and trading account funding, reconciliations, and exposure management.
* Collaborate with front-office teams to support trading activities with efficient cash management.
* Implement risk management frameworks to mitigate counterparty and operational risks.
* Contribute to the payment roadmap, ensuring alignment with both innovation and regulatory requirements.
* Identify and implement emerging technologies to enhance efficiency and customer experience.
* Ensure compliance with regulations such an E-Money, CASS, AML requirements, and evolving industry standards.
* Develop strategies to future-proof payment infrastructure in an evolving regulatory and technological landscape.
Who are we looking for?
* Experience: 8+ years in settlements, treasury, or payments within an FX, fintech, or financial services environment.
* Leadership: Proven experience managing teams and driving operational excellence.
* Global Best Practices: Experience in setting and implementing internationally recognized standards for settlements and treasury.
* Payments & Innovation: Strong knowledge of payment systems, emerging payment technologies, and compliance requirements.
* Risk & Compliance: Familiarity with regulatory frameworks, AML, and operational risk controls across multiple jurisdictions.
* Technology & Systems: Experience with payment systems, SWIFT, and treasury management solutions.
* Strategic Thinking: Ability to define and execute a payments innovation roadmap while ensuring compliance.
* Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to optimize processes, manage liquidity, and mitigate risks effectively.
* Communication: Strong stakeholder management skills, both internally and externally.
