Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Optical Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering and system design, with a focus on optical systems. This role requires a blend of mechanical knowledge and expertise in various programming languages and design software. The Optical Engineer will be responsible for developing innovative solutions, conducting root cause analysis, and ensuring the functionality of optical components within complex systems.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop optical systems and components using CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, and MicroStation.
* Conduct root cause analysis to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to optical performance.
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate optical systems with programmable logic controllers and firmware.
* Utilise programming skills in Python, C++, MATLAB, and Perl for system simulations and debugging tasks.
* Create detailed schematics and documentation for optical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Implement surface mount technology (SMT) processes for optical component assembly.
* Engage in signal processing activities to enhance the performance of optical systems.
* Participate in system design reviews and provide mechanical insights to optimise product functionality.
Experience
* Proven experience in electrical engineering with a focus on optical systems is essential.
* Familiarity with SolidWorks for 3D modelling and design is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated ability in debugging electronic systems and soldering components effectively.
* Experience with ARM architecture is an advantage.
* Knowledge of system design principles and practices related to optical engineering is required.
* Strong analytical skills for effective root cause analysis and problem-solving within complex engineering environments.
