Salary Band - Band A - £24,309 increasing to Band C £28,415 once qualified and whilst driving a HGV.
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Operations Team and be trained (fully funded) to be a fully qualified Heavy Good Vehicle Driver and then join our new Domestic Food Waste service. This opportunity will be subject to a Learning Contract and we will be looking for you to develop the required skills to be an HGV driver within a 3-6-month period (subject to DVLA test availability).
This will involve developing the skills required for a professional driver, attaining a Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC), developing knowledge of how to supervise a crew, working as part of a team and contributing to the delivery of the service to provide excellent customer service. Whilst you wait to undertake the various aspects of driver training you will be part of a team to undertake waste collection activities across all waste streams. This will be in accordance with the methods and safe systems of work laid down by the Council.

* Work collaboratively as part of a team to deliver high-quality services required by the Councils.
