Main Purpose To work as part of the BDU team to: be responsible for the administration and development of selective new business. process enquiries to ensure that the most efficient and cost effective manufacturing routes are utilised. maintenance and enhancement of on-going specification development. To work with Sales Director and BDU Manager to: continuously provide excellent analysis that can be the basis for strategic decisions. identify key actions both within the business, existing and prospective customers to enhance long-term profitability. provide commercial data enabling local pricing via sales & BDU teams, local site & national tenders, as well as MNA & PES tenders. The Role Analysing business data to identify cost reduction opportunities and establish these into the business Provide reliable and valid data on site’s sales & commercial results Prepare / assist in the preparation of tenders and e-tenders for discussion about pricing strategy with the Sales Director & General Manager Receive enquiries from existing and potential new customers and prepare appropriate quotation package, liaising both with sales force and customer to ensure their needs are fully understood and reflected in our offer. Utilising post costing systems identify opportunities to improve customer profitability Conduct additional analysis on site’s sales and customers profitability as required Provide proactive, strong, well composed commercial support to the sales teams Prepare and manage reports on customers margins, quotation response times, enquiries processed and work mix Track margin and cost take out initiatives. To play a major role in involving and co-ordinating all interested parties and activities in the trial order process Assist in spec raising, pricing, trials and other areas of BDU functions Achieve KPIs on margin enhancement and customer CTO commitments. To liaise with sales team, customer and suppliers to ensure timely receipt of origination to ensure the optimum recovery of the relevant costs. To ensure that all information issued to factory is correct to requirements of pre-order system and that the opportunity has been taken to maximise the best factory routing.
