Role
This senior academic role offers the opportunity to lead transformative bioengineering research within the Centre for Bioengineering and Biomedical Technologies (CBio) at the University of Bath. You will drive high-impact research, shape strategic innovation, and embed cutting-edge discoveries into education. The role spans research leadership, curriculum development, and strategic influence across healthcare technologies, environmental health, and biomedical systems. As a core member of CBio, you’ll foster interdisciplinary collaboration, secure major funding, and mentor future leaders—positioning Bath as a global hub for bioengineering excellence.
* Lead high-quality, ethical research with international collaborations aligned to the University\'s strategy.
* Secure and maintain substantial external funding for collaborative research.
* Produce and publish impactful research in top journals and present at major conferences.
* Maximise research impact through knowledge exchange, public engagement, and partnerships.
* Enhance the postgraduate research environment, including leadership in doctoral training.
* Deliver inclusive and effective teaching and develop innovative learning methods.
* Create and promote curricula to attract diverse student groups and engage in pedagogic research.
* Support student progress through assessment, feedback, and continuous improvement of teaching.
* Represent the University as a subject expert nationally and internationally. Build and sustain academic networks that benefit the University\'s reputation and strategic goals.
