By day, we are a warm and welcoming café bar, serving specialty coffee, fresh scones, and homemade cakes, alongside a full breakfast and lunch menu. As the evening unfolds, we transform into a lively bar and restaurant, where guests can enjoy a relaxed dinner or meet friends for drinks. At weekends, our bar becomes a popular, buzzing hub for locals, and the atmosphere is vibrant to say the least.
The Role
As Assistant Manager, you will support the General Manager in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations across all areas of the business. From leading the floor during busy shifts to motivating and training the team, you'll play a key part in maintaining the high standards our guests expect. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where quality, creativity, and consistency are valued.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in managing the daily operations of the café, bar, and restaurant.
* Lead and inspire the team to deliver exceptional hospitality at all times.
* Support with staff training, scheduling, and development.
* Maintain high standards of service, cleanliness, and presentation.
* Ensure smooth running of busy shifts, particularly evenings and weekends.
* Oversee stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships.
* Uphold compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations.
* Work closely with the management team to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
What We're Looking For
* Minimum 2 years' experience in a supervisory role within a food-led pub, bar, or restaurant.
* A confident leader with excellent organisational and people skills.
* Calm, efficient, and effective under pressure.
* High standards of service and the ability to instil these in others.
* A hands-on, positive attitude and a passion for hospitality.
* Coffee and cocktail skills very useful
