An exciting opportunity for a qualified solicitor or barrister to join the legal team of a forward-thinking university. This role involves delivering high-quality, commercially focused legal advice across a wide range of matters including contracts, intellectual property, regulatory issues, and dispute resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
* Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of legal agreements, including commercial, collaboration, and research contracts
* Provide clear, pragmatic advice on contractual, commercial, and regulatory matters
* Support IP commercialisation and research contracting activities within the university
* Advise on governance issues and liaise with external legal advisers where necessary
* Assist with litigation matters, student and supplier disputes
* Deliver training and support to internal stakeholder
* Contribute to legal risk management and policy development
* Qualified to practise as a solicitor or barrister in England and Wales
* Proven experience in commercial law and contract negotiation
* Ability to work independently and manage complex caseloads
* Strong communication, organisational, and IT skills
