Children attending a pupil referral unit present with social, emotional & mental health difficulties in students aged between Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 4. The role involves providing stability, education, and empowerment while considering each learner's individualised, differentiated learning styles to ensure social, emotional, and educational integration.
The initial assignment will assess your fit within the setting, requiring full commitment and enthusiasm for making a difference in children's lives. Job Description:
* Operate within professional ethical and school policies when working with pupils and staff.
* Encourage and support staff positively and use restraint training methods when managing escalating behaviours.
* Support pupils in overcoming crises and dealing with consequences.
* Assist in the social and educational integration of pupils into the class/group.
* Maintain good relationships with staff.
* Empower pupils and promote positive social and emotional regulation.
* Support pupils in maintaining focus and completing work.
* Develop trusting relationships with pupils and offer appropriate support.
* Provide behavioural records and report as required.
Job Specification:
* At least 6 months solid experience in a pupil referral unit, alternative provision, or similar setting.
* Level one or above Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
* Proactive approach and flexibility in work patterns.
* Team Teach training desirable but provided if needed.
* Competitive daily rate: £98-108.
* Enhanced DBS subscribed to the update service or willingness to apply for one.
