About the Role
As a 1:1 SEN Support Assistant, you will work directly with individual students, providing tailored support to help them access learning and achieve their potential. You will collaborate with teachers and support staff to implement individual education plans, encourage engagement in lessons, and foster positive development in a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support to students with SEN, enabling engagement with classroom activities.
* Implement personalised learning plans and monitor student progress.
* Assist with personal care if required, ensuring dignity and respect.
* Support social, emotional, and behavioural development.
* Collaborate closely with teachers, support staff, and parents to promote student success.
Qualifications
* Experience working with students with SEN, ideally in a school setting.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to adapt to individual student needs and work effectively as part of a team.
* Patience, empathy, and a positive approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply) and awareness of safeguarding procedures.
