Role Title - Head of Retail Mail
Location - London, Farringdon (Hybrid, 3 day in office)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Royal Mails as the Head of Retail Mail. As Head of Retail Mails, you will oversee the entire Royal Mail UK product portfolio for Retail Letters. The focus will be on driving margin and increasing revenue and responsibilities include developing the strategy, leading customer discussions, performance management, product developments and the day to day running of the unit.
About the role
•You’ll manage the Royal Mail’s Retail Letters products, owning revenue totalling £1,600m
•You’ll create and manage a product portfolio strategy in line with the broader RM Commercial Strategy
•You’ll drive volume and revenue performance, understanding and interpreting trends and driving sales, customer, operational and marketing interventions to address underperformance and maximise overperformance
•You’ll manage the relevant cost-of-goods-sold budgets relating to our Retail Letters products
•You’ll input to our Financial budgeting and forecasting for revenue and costs-of-goods-sold ensuring plans are consistent with market conditions, historic projections and the product strategy
•You’ll lead a team of product managers to act as the Subject Matter Experts for our Retail Letters products.
About you
This role requires detailed knowledge of our Retail Letters products, of the ability to learn quickly. as well as the following skills and criteria:
•Able to influence those around you to champion your products and drive through change
•Comfortable dealing with ambiguity and resilience to handle changing priorities
•Excellent in analysing complex data to grasp performance trends and issues and to identify route causes and then the ability to present clearly and simply
•Obsessed with meeting customer needs, balanced this with delivering profitable business outcomes.
•Excellent at producing executive level decks
Skills & Experience
•Experience managing a revenue line of business with accountability for top line and bottom line performance
•Experience creating and communicating strategy to an executive audience
•Experience providing SME input to product development, channel development and marketing campaign development
•Experienced in leading a small team of senior management subject matter experts
