Responsibilities
* Work within a multi-disciplinary team carrying out comprehensive assessments, initiating and reviewing care plans, and developing treatment options
* Undertake medication rounds, assess and treat patients who may have undergone traumatic experiences and may be distressed
* Assess patients' health needs using an evidence-based framework and risk assess using sound clinical knowledge
* Work with individuals to provide advice, support and information and manage a case load of patients
* Deliver non-judgemental care that makes a real difference
* Monitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects, liaising with prescribers as required
* Inspire excellence by forging strong links with partners and stakeholders
* Promote best practice, clinical supervision and evidence-based care
* Share knowledge, skills and expertise to ensure safe care, building strong multi-disciplinary teams and supporting each other to do a great job
Qualifications
* Qualified Mental Health Nurse – NMC registration
* Evidence of Continued Professional Development
* Experience working face-to-face with patients who have complex mental health conditions
* Experience of psychosocial interventions, group work and awareness of substance misuse
* Desirable – experience in a hospital, community or prison environment

Location & Employment Details
We have an exciting part-time/full-time opportunity for a Mental Health Nurse to join our Mental Health team at HMP Wymott, a Category C male prison located in Leyland. The role ideally requires a car driver due to the prison's location.
The facility has a capacity of around 1,100 and a varied and complex population. You will work as part of the healthcare department and be required to work on the prison wings.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 am to 4 pm. This position is full time, with an annual salary up to 34,428 – 41,659 per annum FTE, depending on experience.
