CRHT Senior Nurse Practitioner

Your primary work base location will be Sandwell but you will also be expected to work in other localities of Black Country when necessary.


Main duties of the job

Black Country Healthcare is looking for enthusiastic and motivated nurses who will provide compassionate, person‑centred care to adults experiencing mental health difficulties. Crisis resolution Home Treatment Teams offer rapid assessment and short‑term intensive treatment to support individuals and their families/carers during a mental health crisis. Through a recovery approach, we aim to prevent hospital admission or facilitate discharge from hospital.

We follow a multidisciplinary team approach, consisting of nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, non‑medical prescribers, occupational therapists, and supported recovery workers. You will find our teams extremely supportive whilst you are growing into the role. We have a good team spirit, and great teamwork is at the heart of the service.

Job responsibilities

We are committed to delivering a high standard of multidisciplinary, recovery‑focused care; the post holder will be an integral part of this process and will be essential to improving service delivery.

You will need to have relevant experience in either hospital or community settings, transferable skills for assessing mental‑health needs and risks, and formulating care plans for individuals who might be in a high level of distress with a variety of needs. You must hold a valid driver’s licence and have a vehicle.

Education/Qualifications

* Evidence of further education and development
* Teaching and assessing qualifications or equivalent experience e.g. ENB 998


Experience

* Proven post‑registration experience
* Experience of working with people who have deliberately self‑harmed
* Experience of teaching and assessing in clinical practice (mentoring)
* Experience of working in an acute environment such as Crisis Resolution Home Treatment Team or Mental Health Liaison Team
* Caseload management and clinical supervisory experience
* Experience in quality care initiatives and audit
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Ability to carry out autonomous mental‑health assessments
* Ability to manage own time and work under pressure
* Ability to embrace continual change in organisational working and culture, awareness of change
* Self‑motivated and an interest in chosen field
* Evidence of commitment to promoting service‑user and carer values
* Commitment to personal development
* Flexible approach to work
* Desire to work with other professionals/departments to enhance service delivery and meet organisational objectives
* Training in brief psychological therapies
