We\'re looking for an enthusiastic and hardworking Commis Chef to join our friendly kitchen team. Just outside Norwich city centre, the Racecourse is a family-friendly pub and restaurant that combines traditional charm with modern amenities. As part of our Butchers Hook syndicate, it offers a welcoming atmosphere for guests of all ages, featuring a spacious dining area and a dedicated indoor play zone known as the FunFort. The food offering is centred around their signature carvery, available daily. But the Racecourse is not just about great food; it\'s a hub for community events and family entertainment. Responsibilities

* Assist with the preparation and cooking of menu items under the guidance of senior chefs
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organisation, and food hygiene
* Learn how to manage ingredients, prep, plating, and kitchen safety
* Support the team during busy service times and contribute to a positive kitchen environment
* Take every opportunity to grow your skills and confidence


Qualifications

* A genuine interest in food and cooking
* A strong work ethic and a willingness to learn
* Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
* Ability to take instruction and work calmly under pressure
* Previous kitchen experience is helpful but not essential - full training provided
