Senior People Partner – Strategic HR Leader
Purpose
The Senior People Partner (Snr PP) acts as a strategic people leader and trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, accountable for shaping and delivering the people agenda across a complex business area of over 1,500 employees.
This role leads a team of HR Managers and People Business Partners and collaborates closely with Centres of Excellence (CoEs), HR Shared Services, and HR Change teams to ensure the business area has the organisational capability, leadership strength, culture, and workforce plans needed for long-term success.
The Snr PP also takes ownership of enterprise-wide or cross‑Technical Services change initiatives—such as developing and embedding Career Pathways, capability frameworks and other people-focused transformation programmes.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
* Advise senior leaders using insight, commercial understanding, and external trends.
* Translate business strategy into a clear, future‑focused people plan.
* Anticipate workforce challenges and design long‑term capability solutions.
* Shape organisational structures, role clarity, and workforce plans.
* Lead and develop HR Managers and People Partners.
* Build a high‑performing, inclusive People team culture.
* Provide thought leadership and act as an escalation point for complex issues.
Change & Transformation
* Lead major people‑related transformation programmes across Technical Services.
* Own end‑to‑end delivery of change initiatives from design to adoption.
* Strengthen talent pipelines, mobility, and operational excellence.
* Manage organisational change with strong communication and risk control.
Talent, Leadership & Capability
* Drive talent and succession planning across the sector.
* Strengthen leadership capability through coaching and constructive challenge.
* Build capability in decision‑making, accountability, and people risk management.
* Oversee people risk and ensure consistent issue management.
* Leverage Shared Services and ER expertise with clear expectations.
* Identify systemic issues through insight and sponsor preventative action.
* Use people analytics to diagnose trends and drive data‑led decisions.

* Skilled stakeholder manager who builds trust quickly.
* Confident using data to inform decisions.
* Experienced navigating a modern HR operating model.
* Willingness to travel to support dispersed teams.
