This specialist setting supports pupils from trauma backgrounds who need consistency, understanding and strong role models. The school has established, structured methods for behaviour regulation and emotional support — and now they’re looking for someone who can bring energy, resilience and the power of sport into that framework.

The Role
* Use sport and physical activity as a tool for engagement and behaviour support
* Reinforce the school’s behaviour regulation strategies through structured activity
* Build strong, consistent and trusted relationships
* Support emotional regulation through movement, routine and clear boundaries
* Promote teamwork, discipline, resilience and self-worth
* Work closely with pastoral and teaching teams

Ideal Background
* Sports coaching, PE, youth work or mentoring experience
* Experience supporting children or young people from trauma backgrounds
* Trauma-informed approach — understands attachment, triggers and de-escalation strategies
* Confident, calm and emotionally intelligent
* Resilient with strong boundaries and a nurturing, relational style
* Team Teach (desirable but not essential)

✅ Requirements
* Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
* Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
* 24 months’ worth of professional references
* Full UK driving licence preferred
