Construction Compliance Manager

SPC Manager

Our client are looking to recruit a Construction Compliance Manager based in Daresbury, on a full time, permanent contract basis. The Construction Compliance Manager is a senior management position, accountable for positive construction safety and coordination culture in complex stakeholder environments across multiple sectors (healthcare, custodial, education, accommodation, highways, infrastructure).

The characteristics of the key accountabilities are:

* As the Construction Compliance Manager, you will be the focal point for CDM / Building Regulations advice and guidance within the business.
* Work alongside Principal Designers and Principal Contractors to plan, manage and monitor the pre-construction phase and coordinate matters relating to health and safety.
* As the Construction Compliance Manager, you must ensure the appointed Principal Designer identifies and eliminates or controls (so far as is reasonably practicable) foreseeable risks to health or safety of any person carrying out or likely to be affected by construction works, maintaining or cleaning a structure or using a structure designed as a workplace.
* You will take a compliance role in reviewing the Principal Designer/CDM(A) is liaising with the PC at regular intervals throughout the construction phase and progress the collation of information for the health and safety file.
* Ensure the Principal Designer prepares a health and safety file appropriate to the characteristics of the project and that it is handed over to the Client on project completion.
* To work in collaboration with other professional services to ensure clients are serviced and visited in accordance with contractual obligations and that costs to deliver is minimised without compromising quality of service.
* To work effectively within the SHE Department in completing visits and outstanding services in order to meet contractual obligations.
* Provide assurance to the Executive Leadership Team through comprehensive performance reporting that the business is fully compliant with all statutory, regulatory, and best practice building safety requirements.
* Provide training and bitesize learning as a result of any relevant industry changes or to present key messages to the wider business.
* Able to demonstrate management and co-ordination skills required of a Principal Designer.

Person Specification

Essential

* NEBOSH Construction
* Grad IOSH
* Member IIRSM
* Evidence of FM knowledge and/or consultancy experience
* Influential, excellent communication skills
* Experience of large and/or complex projects
* Well organised, articulate and highly motivated
* Ability to influence and engage with all stakeholders
* Accustomed to working both independently or as a team member
* Effective planner
* Successful relevant DBS check

Desirable

* Excellent skills in IT to include word, excel, PowerPoint
* Experience in PFI/PPP contracts across Health, Education sectors
* CMIOSH
* Fire, Asbestos and Legionella knowledge
* Confined Spaces
* Demolition
