To provide a professional, customer-centred service to patients and the multi-professional team within Neurology.
Key Result Areas & Performance
To provide an accurate and timely telephone response service for calls to the department.
To promote the professionalism of the Trust and maintain the privacy and dignity of the patient at all times.
To offer all callers a warm, friendly, and helpful welcome, informing them of the next steps and any potential delays.
To maintain a calm attitude at all times, being aware of patients’ and callers’ worries and concerns.
To ensure department administration processes are followed accurately and promptly, completing all administrative tasks and business processes.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
* Respond to calls to the department in a timely manner.
* Ensure department scanning onto ICARE is completed after each clinic.
* Assist Medical Secretaries and Medical Typists with duties such as printing and posting letters.
* Ensure accurate entry and updates of patient details in ICARE.
* Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies when entering patient information into Trust systems.
* Check case note availability for the multi-disciplinary team and escalate missing records appropriately.
