Which is why we are excited to announce a new opportunity for a Senior Security Specialist join our Security and Resilience Team (with travel across sites as required)
EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW
We’re looking for a Senior Security Specialist to define and deliver our strategic approach to physical and personnel security. You’ll ensure we meet all regulatory and statutory obligations, manage emerging threats, and drive a culture of security excellence across the business.
What You’ll Be Doing
Strategic Leadership
* Develop and implement protective security strategies, standards, and governance
* Lead security capital investment projects and business planning
* Oversee compliance with national infrastructure security regulations
Operational Excellence
* Conduct site assessments, audits, and risk evaluations
* Provide technical and non-technical security advice
* Lead on criminal and security investigations, ensuring legal and data privacy compliance
Stakeholder Engagement
* Liaise with appropriate government departments, regulators and law enforcement
* Represent Severn Trent in national security initiatives
* Deliver clear, actionable insights on security trends and threats
Cultural Change & Assurance
* Promote a proactive security culture across the organisation
* Manage enterprise-level security risks and assurance programmes
* Support business continuity, resilience, and incident response
What You’ll Bring To The Role
We’re seeking a seasoned security professional with a deep understanding of physical and personnel security, including physical and electronic mitigation measures. You’ll need to be confident in navigating complex threats, technologies, and regulatory landscapes, with a proven ability to influence and embed cultural change across a large organisation.
You should have experience in strategic planning, project delivery, and conducting investigations, as well as the ability to communicate effectively at all levels. Strong stakeholder management skills and a collaborative mindset are essential, as is the ability to simplify complex data and present it clearly.
To Succeed In This Role, You’ll Need
* Valid SC clearance
* Recognised security certifications / qualifications
* A full UK driving licence
