Our client, an Oil and Gas Operator, is currently hiring a Corporate Assistant Accountant to be based onshore in the Aberdeen office.
BASIC PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Support the Corporate Accounting team by assisting across a range of aspects of corporate reporting and statutory compliance for the Company.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Corporate:
* Update daily and monthly trackers with key information such as production volumes, prices, payment quantities, hydrocarbon lifts, etc.
* Finance focal point for revenue accounting - responsible for all hydrocarbon sale billings, including raising invoices & checking payments, preparation of revenue accruals, PQ monitor updates, liaising with key Commercial contacts regarding sales agreements, etc.
* Manage all intercompany activities such as billings, processing journals, liaising with subsidiaries, quarterly intercompany confirmations, settlements, etc.
* Prepare and post key monthly corporate journal entries.
* Assist with the monthly reporting cycle – preparing various reporting packs for review and submission to the Group.
* Assist with the preparation of PRT1/2 workbooks for semi-annual tax returns.
* Handle corporate monthly & quarterly balance sheet reconciliations and compile reconciliation issues list for Finance.
* Run various corporate reports to ensure data availability each month.
* Monitor and maintain the shared mailbox.
* Assist with clearing Logistics suspense accounts monthly.
* Coordinate with external auditors during quarterly and statutory audits.
* Perform other ad hoc tasks as required.
Planning:
* Support the Planning team in preparing quarterly business plan updates, involving interactions with Commercial, Wells, Subsurface, Engineering, Decommissioning, and Operations teams.
Inventory:
* Record transactions at month-end to ensure Oracle and Maximo systems are synchronized.
* Collaborate with Materials Management within Supply Chain to improve inventory accounting processes.
* Participate in forecasting and budgeting activities quarterly and annually.
* Conduct quarterly reconciliations.
* Provide data and analysis for inventory-related ad-hoc requests.
QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
Essential: National 5 qualification or equivalent in Mathematics.
Preferred: University degree in finance, accountancy, or related field.
