Director of People Operations & Partnerships — Location: UK-wide

Having stepped in from an internal secondment, you will build on the incumbent’s expertise while driving people experience, operational excellence, digital innovation, and high‑performing partnerships across one of the UK’s largest workforces.
What you’ll lead
* HR Services, Employee Relations, Payroll, Resourcing, HR Systems & Data
* Major partnerships with offshore HR & Payroll providers, technology vendors, and recruitment partners
* Transformation initiatives to digitise, automate, and modernise the full colleague lifecycle
* End‑to‑end HR service delivery for 70,000 colleagues, including 20,000 hires and 24,000 ER cases annually
* Data, insights and analytics to support strategic decision‑making across the business
* Champion simplification, automation and a friction‑free colleague experience
What you’ll bring
* Extensive senior HR Operations/Shared Services leadership in a large, multi‑site organisation
* Experience managing offshore delivery teams, large vendor ecosystems, and complex commercial performance
* A track record of digital transformation, HRIS implementation, and automation
* Deep understanding of UK employment law, payroll compliance and HR governance
* Strong commercial acumen, analytical capability, and the confidence to influence across all levels
* A low‑ego, high‑EQ leadership style that inspires teams, builds trust, and drives continuous improvement
