The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS) seeksto increase the number of applicants for clinical nursing positions by offeringa recruitment incentive to eligible Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant,Nursing Supervisor, Compliance Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed PracticalNurse, and Certified Nursing Assistant candidates in accordance with the DHSSRecruitment and Referral
Incentive Program.
The program provides incentivesas follows:
·Recruitment incentives will bepaid in quarterly installments over the first year of hire and will begin afterthe first quarter of employment. New employees accepting this recruitment bonusmust commit to two consecutive years of employment with DHSS. You must bea new employee to the state to be eligible for this incentive.
·Referral bonuses of $1,000 areavailable to current DHSS employees who refer new hires to the state in thefollowing classifications: Advanced Practice Nurse, Nurse Consultant, NursingSupervisor, Compliance Nurse, Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, andCertified Nursing Assistant. Referral bonuses of $1,000 will be paid inquarterly installments over the first year of hire of the referred applicant.
NOTE: This program isadministered by the Department of Health and Social Services. The programmay be terminated by the State at any time.
Summary Statement
The Nursing Supervisor at the Public Health Clinic in the Porter State Service Center is responsible for planning, directing, and evaluating the work of direct care staff at the health unit working in the following service lines: Child Health, Sexual and Reproductive Health, and Immunizations. This position functions as the primary site contact for the Vaccine for Children program ensuring program compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsible for providing direct nursing care and provides health care guidance and education to clients. May work at other locations within the county to support operational need during vacancies and participates in disaster response trainings and situations, and community flu clinics/initiatives.

1. Provides or evaluates direct nursing care.
2. Develops, implements and/or reviews nursing care plans.
3. Provides health care instruction and guidance to individuals, families, community groups and/or nursing home facilities in the management of their health care needs.
4. Maintains an effective working relationship with other members of the treatment team.
5. Prepares and submits records, reports, evaluations and forms.
6. Participates in and make recommendations regarding quality assurance activities.
Job Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS for Nursing Supervisor
Applicants must have education, training and/or experience demonstrating competence in each of the following areas:
Nursing Supervisor - Public Health Nursing
7. Possession of a Bachelors degree or higher in Nursing and at least two years experience as a Registered Nurse in Public Health Nursing OR a Masters degree or higher in Nursing and at least one year experience as a Registered Nurse in Public Health Nursing.
8. Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse license OR multi-state compact license.
9. Knowledge of staff supervision acquired through course work, academic training, training provided through an employer, or performing as a lead worker overseeing the work of others; OR supervising staff which may include planning, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of others; OR supervising through subordinate supervisors a group of professional, technical, and clerical employees .
