We are recruiting for an experienced neonatal intensive care sister/charge nurse to join our friendly and supportive team at the Newham University Hospital.

This post has great opportunity for learning, development and career growth. Learn to develop your skills and increase your knowledge by becoming an experienced tertiary level neonatal nurse, caring for a range of sick neonates from both the extreme prematurity to term gestation, providing surgical and medical interventions to maintain these precious tiny lives.

Essential

* Good level of skill in computer usage - able to use NHS data bases, input data and retrieve information.
* Awareness of current issues and reforms in the NHS and neonatal services.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Willingness to undertake further training as required
* Desire for service improvement and efficiencies.

Desirable

* Experience of good budgetary control and efficient use of resources.

Qualifications

Essential

* Registered Nurse (Children or Adult) with valid NMC PIN
* Post-registration qualification in Neonatal Care (e.g., QIS or equivalent.

Desirable

* Neonatal Life Support
* Mentorship/Practice Assessor qualification

Experience

Essential

* Significant post-registration experience within a neonatal setting
* Leadership or supervisory experience

Desirable

* Experience of leading shifts or acting up in a senior role
* Experience in quality improvement or audit projects

Knowledge

Essential
