SITE AGENT – ENVIRONMENT
SEVERN TRENT REGION
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Site Agent to join Galliford Try within our Environment Business.
Ideally, you will be based in or around the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region.
You will work on our Severn Trent Water Frameworks within our Environment Business, which is experienced in delivering schemes of varying sizes, primarily in the Water Industry, covering both Treatment Waste and Water schemes.
As a Site Agent, you will take full responsibility for managing your section of works, ensuring you meet client and company performance expectations.
Your responsibilities include:
* Managing a section of works daily, including supervising and monitoring the site team and supply chain.
* Planning, controlling, and monitoring the progress of the works, and coordinating project sections as assigned.
* Managing multiple packages of work alongside the commercial team, taking full ownership of costs.
* Capturing and managing any scope changes (operations, commercial, programme, or design).
* Understanding temporary works requirements.
* Undertaking value engineering solutions.
* Attending external meetings with clients and stakeholders to build effective relationships.
* Reporting progress and performance to the Project Manager.
* Assisting in administering cost forecasts, valuations, and reporting systems.
* Implementing and attending weekly and monthly site meetings.
* Ensuring all site team and supply chain work with the latest design information.
* Undertaking material take-offs, ordering, and reconciliation.
* Conducting regular H&S checks and CDM audits.
* Ensuring risk assessments, method statements, permits, site inductions, and safety briefings are correctly carried out.
* Resolving unexpected technical difficulties and problems.
* Maintaining strict quality control procedures.
* Keeping site diaries up to date.
* Leading and managing direct reports, ensuring competence and conducting annual PDRs.
* Monitoring staff and contractor capabilities and reporting to senior management.
* Introducing new processes, techniques, and innovations onsite.
About You:
Competency Requirements:
* Ability to manage multiple or larger packages of work.
* Proficiency in reading and interpreting data, drawings, specifications, and schedules.
* Highly organized with the ability to prioritize workloads.
* Excellent interfacing skills with site teams, subcontractors, designers, and clients.
* Strong knowledge of CDM and NEC regulations.
* Ability to interpret, extract, and disseminate works information related to the programme.
* Proven leadership and delegation skills.
* Advanced problem-solving skills.
* Awareness of health and safety responsibilities, adhering to company policies.
Technical / Professional Qualifications:
* SMSTS certification.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
* Relevant civil engineering experience.
* Experience in a relevant functional area through job experience and training.
* Responsibility for completing PDRs for all direct reports.
* Previous relevant experience or transferable skills.
* Desirable: Part-qualified professional in relevant discipline.
