British Esports is the national body for esports in the United Kingdom. Established as a not-for-profit organization in January 2016 by authority of the UK Government, British Esports is the official member of the Global Esports Federation (GEF) representing Great Britain, including England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. As a founding member of the IOC’s esports liaison group, British Esports focuses on grassroots esports, aiming to promote the activity, improve the standard of UK esports, and inspire future talent. The organization works with educational establishments to create engaging events, and educates various stakeholders about the benefits of esports.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for a Venue Manager located in Sunderland. The Venue Manager will oversee the daily operations of the venue, ensuring a high level of customer service and effective event management. Responsibilities include managing budgets, coordinating with staff, scheduling events, supervising maintenance, and ensuring health and safety compliance. The role requires excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while providing a positive experience for all venue users.
Qualifications
* Excellent Communication and Customer Service skills
* Proven experience in Venue Management and Event Management
* Strong Budgeting skills and financial acumen
* Ability to work effectively in a team and manage staff
* Relevant qualifications in Venue Management, Event Management or related fields are beneficial
* Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required
* Experience in esports or entertainment industries is a plus
