We are seeking a proactive and experienced Utilities Manager to join our team and play a critical role in supporting the delivery of new housing developments. You will be responsible for the procurement, coordination, and management of utility services – including water, gas, electricity, and telecommunications – from initial land acquisition through to handover. This is an exciting opportunity to work for a growing housebuilder with a strong development pipeline, where you will ensure utilities are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required specification. Key Responsibilities: Manage the end-to-end coordination of utility services (diversions, disconnections, new supplies) for all residential development sites. Engage and build relationships with utility providers (Statutory Undertakers) and third-party contractors. Review development layouts and technical drawings to ensure efficient utility designs. Procure quotations, negotiate costs, and monitor budgets relating to utilities. Ensure all applications for connections, upgrades or diversions are submitted in a timely manner. Track key milestones and lead times to ensure utilities do not impact build programmes. Liaise closely with internal teams including Land, Technical, Commercial, Construction, and Sales. Attend site meetings and provide technical advice related to utility works. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and safety requirements. Maintain accurate records of all utility infrastructure, agreements, and warranties. Key Skills & Experience: Proven experience managing utilities within residential housebuilding or civil engineering. Strong technical knowledge of utility design, planning, and installation processes. Excellent organisational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple sites. Confident communicator able to liaise effectively with stakeholders, suppliers, and site teams. Commercially astute with experience managing costs and budgets. Working knowledge of relevant regulations (e.g. NRSWA, CDM, Health & Safety). Proficient in reading technical plans and using Microsoft Office (AutoCAD experience is a bonus). Desirable Qualifications: HNC/HND or degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field. SMSTS or similar Health & Safety certification. Membership of a professional body (e.g. ICE, CIOB) is advantageous but not essential.
