About the Role
Rowhedge & University of Essex Medical Practice has an exciting opportunity for a pharmacy technician to join our practice on a part-time basis of 15 hours per week.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
* developing our prescribing systems to ensure safe, effective and efficient prescribing within the practice;
* supporting the reception and administration teams with complex medication queries;
* supporting the GP partners on prescribing projects and cost/safety audits and actions.
About the Candidate
All applicants must:
* be a registered member of the GPhC with at least 2 years of experience as a pharmacy technician and experience of supervision/leadership on projects. It is desirable that you have experience of supervising staff, but this is not essential.
* have experience of dealing with patients face-to-face, as well as over the telephone and digitally.
* have experience of working within a diverse team with multiple disciplines and be able to liaise with clinical and admin staff with the practice.
* have experience of using computer systems including clinical systems, such as SystmOne and EMIS Web.
* have knowledge of law and guidelines around medicines and the Code of Conduct.
* have a good level of education, including maths and English.
* have strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing as well as strong knowledge of a high level of confidentiality.
* have experience of liaising with the PCN clinical pharmacist and be able to escalate issues to them.
