Campsite Assistant - Ambleside Summary We’re looking for a Campsite Assistant to work in Low Wray Campsite. This role is all about making sure that people have their best possible experience of an outdoor holiday with the National Trust. Hours: 37.5 hours a week (full time). 4 x 8 hour days and 1 x 5.5 hour day, followed by two days off. Working days to be confirmed but could be any day Monday- Sunday. Weekend and bank holiday working required. Shifts will be from 7am at the earliest until 8:30pm at the latest, with staff starting at staggered times throughout the morning. Shift times will vary throughout the season depending on how busy the site is. Duration: Fixed Term Contract until 27 September 2026 Salary: 12.75 an hour Start date: two roles available, one starting 2 March 2026 and the other starting 1st June 2026 Interview date: w/c Monday 19th January We cannot provide any accommodation on site other than that provided for the key rep roles (see IRC169568). This means we cannot accept staff living on site in campervans, motorhomes or tents. Internally, within the National Trust, you'll be known as an ‘Outdoors Holidays Operations Assistant’. What you'll be doing You’ll help to keep the campsite and bunkhouse clean, well-maintained and welcoming for all guests. This includes practical tasks like cleaning and basic maintenance, reporting any repairs needed and generally being a friendly contact for everyone staying here. You’ll be greeting people, helping with their bookings and dealing helpfully with their enquiries or complaints. You’ll also help to run the campsite shop when needed.
