About MM Band Services
MM Band Services supplies premium sleeper buses to the touring music industry across the UK and Europe, alongside transport and logistics support. We’re known for high standards, excellent communication, and a safety-first culture.
The Opportunity (New Role)
We’re creating a new Transport Manager position to strengthen compliance, planning, and day-to-day transport operations across a mixed fleet of 26 sleeper buses and 15 trucks. This is a hands-on role with real ownership—ideal for someone who likes running a tight ship, improving systems, and working closely with drivers and the workshop.
Freight CPC is welcome —we can support training to achieve Passenger CPC for the right person.
Key Responsibilities
* Take day-to-day responsibility for transport compliance and operator licence undertakings
* Manage driver hours, tachographs, infringements, and working time compliance
* Support planning and allocation across buses and trucks (cover, contingencies, last-minute changes)
* Oversee vehicle roadworthiness processes: daily walkarounds, defect reporting, rectification follow-up
* Coordinate with the workshop on PMI schedules, servicing, MOT prep, and vehicle availability
* Maintain accurate records and ensure audit readiness at all times
* Investigate incidents/infringements and implement corrective actions and training
* Build strong working relationships with drivers—clear standards, fair approach, strong communication
* Drive continuous improvement in systems, documentation, and operational discipline
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
* Transport Manager CPC (Freight acceptable)
* Solid knowledge of UK transport compliance (drivers’ hours, tachographs, O-licence obligations)
* Experience in a transport/traffic office or fleet operations environment
* Strong organisation, attention to detail, and confidence making decisions
* Practical, calm, and solutions-focused—able to handle time-critical operations
Desirable:
* Passenger transport exposure (PSV/coach) or willingness to train up
* Experience with mixed fleets (HGV + passenger)
* Familiarity with fleet tracking/tacho systems (e.g., Webfleet or similar)
* Experience preparing for audits and improving compliance processes
What You’ll Get
* £50,000 basic
* A key role with autonomy and visible impact
* A respected business with a specialist fleet and high standards
* Support to train from Freight CPC to Passenger CPC (where needed)
