Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Junior Sous Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the Head Chef in the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. Duties
* Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations and supervising kitchen staff.
* Oversee food production and ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
* Train and mentor kitchen staff in food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and safety practices.
* Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
* Monitor inventory levels, assist with ordering supplies, and minimise waste through efficient food production practices.
* Ensure adherence to food safety protocols, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation procedures.
* Provide support during service periods by cooking, plating, and serving dishes as needed.
Experience
* Proven experience in a similar role within a restaurant or hospitality setting.
* Strong background in food production, preparation, and cooking techniques.
* Demonstrated supervisory experience with the ability to lead a team effectively.
* Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
* Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations.
* Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
