An established contractor and developer is looking to appoint a Technical Manager to support the design, coordination and delivery of projects across residential and care-led developments.
The business operates across construction and development, with work spanning housing, healthcare and specialist accommodation schemes. It is based in North Wales and delivers projects across the wider region.
The Role
This is a project-led technical role, focused on coordinating design information and supporting schemes through the pre-construction and delivery phases. You will work closely with internal teams, consultants and subcontractors to make sure technical information is accurate, practical and aligned with programme requirements.
The role would suit someone with a strong technical background in residential construction who is comfortable managing design coordination, resolving technical issues and helping drive projects forward from an engineering and buildability perspective.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Technical Coordination
* Manage and coordinate technical information across multiple live and pre-construction projects
* Review drawings and consultant information to ensure it is accurate, compliant and buildable
* Liaise with architects, engineers, utility providers and external consultants
* Coordinate design changes and ensure revised information is issued correctly
Project Support
* Work closely with operational and commercial teams throughout the project lifecycle
* Assist with technical input during pre-construction, procurement and delivery stages
* Resolve design and coordination issues as they arise on site
* Support the wider team in maintaining programme and delivery objectives
Compliance and Approvals
* Ensure designs meet current regulations, standards and approval requirements
* Support statutory approvals, technical submissions and coordination with external bodies
* Review site investigation information and other technical reports to inform design decisions
Quality and Buildability
* Identify technical risks early and help put practical solutions in place
* Ensure construction details are coordinated properly before works begin on site
* Help maintain a consistent and commercially sensible approach to technical delivery
Essential Requirements
* Proven experience in a Technical Manager, Design Manager, Engineering Manager or similar role within residential construction
* Strong understanding of housing construction, infrastructure and technical coordination
* Experience working with consultants, drawings, technical reports and statutory approvals
* Good knowledge of buildability, sequencing and design risk
* Able to work closely with site, commercial and pre-construction teams
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Relevant construction or engineering qualification, or equivalent practical experience
