Working as the Medical Retina optometrist you will be responsible for the provision of advanced medical retina care to the patients attending the service. You will provide clinical excellence to Spamedica patients and ensure your team maintain those high standards of care. There will be an opportunity to learn to inject IV treatments for retinal disease. This is a mobile role and will require travel across all SpaMedica hospitals. You will be required to work a maximum of one Saturday per month (day off in the week to be given when a Saturday is worked) Key Tasks: To manage patients with medical retina pathologies Excellent communication skills with anxious patients Interpret OCT imaging, OCTA, FFA/ICG Triage retinal referral letters and manage the day to day running of the medical retina services Provide training to Spamedica and Community Optometrists. Opportunity to learn and deliver intra vitreal injections for treating medical retina patients. Provide CET accredited lectures/peer reviews. Support optometrists in complex case management. Active involvement in complaint management.
