The Role
The Financial Accountant role covers UK & ROI. This is a key finance role taking a lead on implementing and maintaining best practice Inventory and Capex controls while assisting with other aspects of Financial Reporting to ensure we achieve reporting deadlines.
Main duties include:
1) Accountable for month-end and BAU Inventory processes, including Inventory provision, Inventory valuation, Inventory adjustments, Inventory write offs, returns write offs, valuation changes in accordance with UK and US GAAP, Simplifying BOMs, update and maintain standard costs.
2) Lead on Inventory counts at each site as required throughout the year and liaise with auditors at year end.
3) Building strong relationships with the commercial and operational teams to embed Inventory management processes and behaviours, and drive greater Inventory control.
4) Accountable for all Capex reporting and control.
KPIs
Examples KPIs expected to include, but not limited to:
* Analysis of COGs / Operational variances
* Inventory & Manufacturing variance analysis
* Support Actuals performance review
* Support Forecasting & Budgeting process
* Inventory adjustments
* Monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations
* Improve inventory control & reduce inventory write-offs
* Monthly Capex spend reconciled to Fixed asset register
You must have:-
· Full accounting qualification (e.g. ACCA / CIMA)
· 2+ years experience in FMCG / Manufacturing type companies
· Proven track record of delivering margin / profit improvement + cost savings
· Excellent excel skills, PowerPoint and Word
* Good knowledge of accounting systems
* Be able to work within a fast paced, deadline orientated environment
* Possess excellent communication skills and be a team player
* Understand the level of precision vs approximation required
* Capable of implementing and adapting systems to improve decision-making
