We are looking for a talented and ambitious Director of People & Culture to join our team and become a key part of our successful and growing company. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity as you will have the scope, the support and the platform to shape our people strategy from the ground up, impacting more than 7k people across the UK.
About The Role
As the Director of People & Culture, you will provide both strategic vision and hands-on leadership. You will be the go-to HR expert for both our head office team and our network of franchise owners from across the UK.
In this pivotal role, you’ll drive organisational culture, talent development, employee engagement and retention, while fostering an environment of excellence and compliance.
You will partner closely with franchise owners and internal stakeholders to align our HR practices with the company’s mission and values whilst also being pivotal in the guidance and sharing of advice on overseas recruitment. This role is both strategic and operational, requiring a proactive leader who can enhance our People & Culture function while maintaining full involvement in day-to-day HR activity.
This role sits on Caremark Limited’s Senior Leadership Team.
What you’ll be doing
Reporting into the CEO, and with a direct report of an HR Co-ordinator, you will be responsible for driving the overall strategy for the People and Culture Department. Key responsibilities include:
* Partner with senior leadership to strategise the direction of Caremark Limited’s culture, maintain the excellent alignment to our values, whilst ensuring continual improvement.
* Deliver expert HR guidance across a wide range of people matters for both Head Office and our network of Franchise Owners, utilising the expert advice of external suppliers where necessary.
* Lead end-to-end recruitment activity for head office.
* Develop and champion best-in-class hiring practices across the franchise network, providing toolkits, templates and training to support franchise owners in recruiting effectively and compliantly.
* ·Manage key stakeholder relationships ensuring recruitment processes are optimised in terms of time and cost efficiencies for both head office and our network.
* Manage overseas recruitment activity in collaboration with specialist external advisors, navigating the complexities of international hiring compliantly and with confidence.
* Keep the business and our franchise network fully compliant with UK employment law and HR best practice.
* Liaise with the Director of Training and Compliance to develop and maintain HR policies, procedures and frameworks that are clear, current and fit for purpose.
* Monitor changes in employment law and proactively communicate their impact to both head office and franchise owners.
* As part of the Senior Leadership Team, contribute to the strategy and overall direction of the business.
What we’re looking for
* Experienced Leader in People & Culture
* Strong working knowledge of UK employment law
* Ability to operate at a Senior Level
* Previous experience in a multi-site or franchise environment
* CIPD Level 7 or working towards
* Knowledge of Overseas Recruitment a bonus
