Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Brick Mason to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and restoring brickwork structures with precision and professionalism. This role offers an excellent opportunity to utilise specialised masonry skills in a dynamic environment, contributing to high-quality building projects. The Brick Mason will work closely with other tradespeople to ensure that all work meets safety standards and project specifications.
Duties
* Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to detailed plans and specifications
* Prepare surfaces and foundations prior to bricklaying, ensuring stability and levelness
* Mix mortar and apply it accurately using hand tools and power tools
* Repair or restore existing brickwork, including chimneys, walls, and facades
* Operate a variety of hand tools such as trowels, hammers, chisels, and levels
* Utilise power tools including drills, saws, and grinders safely and effectively
* Assist with carpentry tasks when required for framing or structural support
* Perform roofing or welding tasks as needed to support masonry projects
* Maintain a clean work environment and ensure all safety protocols are followed at all times
Requirements
* Proven experience in bricklaying, masonry, or related trades
* Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised masonry equipment
* Knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and best practices in construction
* Ability to read technical drawings and interpret project plans accurately
* Physical fitness to perform manual labour including lifting heavy materials and working at heights
* Strong attention to detail with an organised approach to work
* Additional skills in carpentry, roofing, or welding are advantageous but not essential
* Valid relevant certifications or licences are preferred but not mandatory
