This role is part of a highly visible team that is tasked with putting the tools in the hands of the leaders defining the future of Marriott. This role will also be instrumental in executing Marriott’s multi-year payroll analytics transformation plan, and as such will be required to assist with organizing, understanding, and ultimately architecting Marriott’s payroll data. This role entails business to technical translation, structured creative thinking, cross-functional collaboration, and hands-on development of a custom payroll data solution, including: ETL design, data modeling, RPD development, analytics products, dashboards, and web applications. CANDIDATE PROFILE Education and Experience · 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or Math or other quantitative discipline AND 5+ years of relevant professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance OR Advanced degree in operations research, applied mathematics, statistics, economics, physics, business analytics, engineering, AND 2+ years of relevant professional experience. · Minimum of 5 years’ experience gathering & transforming raw data, data modeling, and ETL design required. A strong preference for experience with payroll data. · Minimum of 5 years’ experience using SQL to create data models and database views, must be an expert. · Minimum of 5 years’ experience with data analysis required, including: Querying, manipulation, transformation, and transfer of data, large data volumes (1B+ records), and consolidating multiple, disjointed data sets · Experience with Oracle Analytics tools and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure a strong plus: Oracle Analytics Model Administration Tool, Oracle Semantic Data Modeler, Oracle APEX, Oracle Analytics Cloud Data Visualization · Minimum of 3 years’ experience building custom analytics products/applications. · Experience or knowledge in UI/UX design, front end web development, HTML and CSS a strong plus. · Familiarity with a data manipulation programming language: “pandas” in Python, R, or SAS is a strong plus · Familiarity with programming a data retrieval process using APIs · Excellent project management and verbal and written communication skills required, especially in the context of managing processes and delivering technical analysis across diverse stakeholder set and independently managing multiple projects CORE WORK ACTIVITIES Architect and Model Payroll Data · In partnership with Global Technology (IT), design new ETL from HCM system to Oracle DW. · Conceptualize, design and build data models and materialized views for use by all payroll reporting and analytics stakeholders · Create and execute testing plan, to ensure data models are accurate. · Adapt to use a variety of tools to accomplish key tasks - data tool \
