Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Dr Gray’s Hospital, Elgin • Ref no: PM247162
Applicants are invited to apply for a Consultant post with NHS Grampian in combined Obstetrics and Gynaecology. The post will be primarily based at Dr Gray’s Hospital (DGH), Elgin, and will contribute to acute Obstetrics at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital (AMH).
The successful candidate will join a strong team of 26 Consultant Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in NHS Grampian.
DGH is NHS Grampian’s district general hospital serving the people of Moray. It prides itself on delivering essential services and advocating for patients to be safely cared for close to home. We provide a comprehensive Gynaecology and Maternity service, with a current model of midwifery‑led intrapartum care.
The Scottish Government has committed £6.6millon funding for the multi‑professional team required to deliver a new model of Consultant‑led Obstetric services by 2026. This is fully endorsed by the NHS Grampian Board and supported by NHS Highland in developing networked pathways of care.
We are seeking Obstetric and Gynaecology Consultant colleagues to join our expanding team at this exciting phase of service re‑design. You will be fully supported by a thriving, friendly department and wider hospital team. You will be encouraged to take forward service and academic development, with opportunities to accommodate sub‑specialty interests in NHS Grampian and within North of Scotland networks.
Those trained in the UK should have evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT or be within six months of confirmed entry on the GMC Specialist Register from the date of interview.
CESR (Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration) or Portfolio Pathway route doctors are only eligible to apply for a substantive Consultant post once CESR or Portfolio Pathway specialist registration is awarded.
