About the Role
As an Assistant HR Business Partner, you will work closely with leaders and HR colleagues to support the delivery of effective people solutions. This includes supporting business change, managing employee relations casework, advising on policy and procedures and improving performance and attendance.
You’ll be a key point of contact for line managers, employees and senior leaders, offering advice and driving HR excellence across your area of responsibility. You’ll also contribute to wider service improvement through research, analysis and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise and guide managers on employee relations matters
* Champion HR practices that reflect our values – Caring, Inclusive, Learning and Courageous
* Develop policies and tools through research and colleague engagement
* Support casework including capability, disciplinary and attendance matters
* Lead and contribute to HR projects that improve people services
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
* CIPD Level 5 qualified or has equivalent knowledge of employment law and current HR practice
* Experienced in managing and advising on employee relations casework and policy implementation
* A confident communicator with the ability to influence and adapt across different audiences and settings
* Able to manage high volumes of varied work while meeting competing deadlines
* Comfortable working independently and taking initiative, especially when delivering projects or reviewing processes
* Solutions-focused and open to change and continuous improvement
Additional Information
We have two vacancies available:
* 1 x Full time (37 hours per week)
* 1 x Part time (22.2 hours over 3 days, including Friday)
These are blended roles with flexible home working and some travel required across the force area.
* Shortlisting will take place week commencing 28 April 2025
* Interviews will be held week commencing 5 May 2025
* To be eligible, you must have a three-year checkable history in the UK, ideally having been resident in the UK for the past three years
