Salary: Grade 3 SCP 4 £19,155.78

oThe Governing Body is seeking to appoint a dynamic Level 1 teaching assistant to support learning in the school. Candidates will be required to have NVQ Level 1 in Childcare and Education or equivalent, to support learning in the school.
oThe Teaching Assistant will be required to work under the guidance of, and with the supervision of the Teaching and Senior Staff to implement agreed programmes of work.
oThe postholder will be expected to support class teachers with assessment procedures and behaviour management.
oThere will be a focus on working as a member of our strong school team, encouraging positive behaviour in our children and assisting them in achieving high standards.
oThere will be a requirement to understand and have prior experience of the Foundation Phase.
oThe postholder will be expected to lead a Read, Write, Inc group and ensure resources are readied and work marked to a high standard.
oThe post holder will be expected to have good skills in ICT, literacy and maths.
oAn ability to be well-organised and work efficiently is essential.
oThe post holder will be expected to attend a weekly planning meeting within directed hours.
oThe post holder is expected to maintain the highest standards of safeguarding, health and safety and promote a culture of positive wellbeing for all.

Under the Education (Wales) Act 2014 all Learning Support staff in schools, (which includes the post referred to herein), must be registered with the Education Workforce Council for Wales (EWC) from 1 April 2016.
Your employment will be subject to satisfactory documentary evidence of registration, and continuing registration, as a Learning Support Assistant with the EWC.
