The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient implementation of research and development projects within the business which involves coordinating project activities, overseeing timelines and effective communication amongst team members and other departments to help promote innovation and accomplish project goals
Roles & Responsibilities
* Understanding of Research and Development (R&D) function - A solid grasp of the scientific and technical aspects relevant to the organisation’s projects. This includes familiarity with research methodologies, experimental design, and data analysis. However, doesn’t need to be an expert in technical aspect.
* Industry Trends and Innovations - Staying informed about global trends, emerging technologies, and breakthroughs in relevant fields is essential. An R&D coordinator should be aware of what’s happening beyond their immediate environment.
* Fostering an Innovative Environment - Encouraging creativity, brainstorming, and out-of-the-box thinking within the R&D team is vital. The coordinator should inspire innovative solutions and novel approaches.
* Conflict Resolution - Fostering open communication, active listening, empathy, and a commitment to finding mutually beneficial solutions
* Performance Feedback - Providing constructive feedback to team members and recognising their achievements.
* Balancing Fairness and Accountability - Ensuring that decisions and actions are just and equitable while also holding individuals responsible for their obligations and commitments.
* Upper Management Engagement - Relate well to upper management. Understanding organisational goals and effectively communicating R&D progress and challenges.
* Effective Communication - Clear communication with team members, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams ensures alignment and smooth project execution.
* Data-Driven Decision-Making - Ability to analyse data, interpret results, and make informed decisions. Being analytical and critical is essential.
* Design and Conduct Experiments - Confident designing and overseeing prototypes/field testing.
* Adaptability - The ability to adapt to changing project requirements, unexpected results, and evolving priorities is crucial.
Skills Required
Essentials
* Previous Project Management experience
* Minimum of 3 years working in a previous R&D role/department
* Strong understanding of the R&D Process and Methodologies.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills
* Excellent organisational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
Desirables
* Experience in electronics / software
* Previous work with tool makers
* Previous experience in hygienic design of equipment
* Understanding of the food manufacturing industry

Job Type: Full-time
