Role Description/Criteria
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Inclusion Coach to join our Student Services team in a full-time capacity. A 0.8 FTE position could also be considered for the right candidate. This pivotal role focuses on supporting staff through coaching to meet the diverse needs of students with neurodevelopmental differences, including PDA, Autism (ASD), ADHD, and ODD. Coaching involves modelling with teachers in the classroom setting by translating PLP/ILPS into practical actions and adjustments that make a real difference.
Essential Skills & Experience:
* Expertise in PDA, ASD, ADHD, ODD
* Further study in inclusive or special education (highly regarded)
* Proven ability to cater for additional needs in mainstream classes by making appropriate adjustments as a teacher
* Experience or passion for coaching
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* A passion for neurodivergent students
* Knowledge of social and emotional skill development
Key Responsibilities:
* Coach teachers on tactics and strategies for adjustments for neurodiverse students
* Assist teachers in using resources and collaborating with learning support staff to meet student needs
* Be part of the Student Services team and report to LDL
* Conduct 3-4 afternoon sessions working with small groups on social and emotional skills development for students with needs in this area
* Attend some PSG meetings and consult with external services when required
