Business Manager Special Schools City Wide
Salary: £40,501 - £47,639 (pro‑rata for part‑time and sessional). Hours: 18 hours per week, 40 weeks per sessional.
Permanent posts are available, as well as fixed‑term contracts (to December 2026).
Posts are available in special schools across Edinburgh. All posts are based on‑site in one school for 18 hours per week. Locations will be confirmed with candidates who are invited to interview; candidates may indicate which posts they wish to be considered for.

Responsibilities
The role of a Business Manager is to support the Headteacher in all non‑curricular aspects of school management, ensuring these aspects operate effectively.

* Human Resources
* Information Governance
* Resources
* Facilities
* Information Technology
* Health and Safety
Successful candidates should have experience in some or all of these areas and be able to personally manage day‑to‑day operations, maintain and develop operational efficiency, and work in partnership with multiple external agencies and contractors.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience of leading support services in an educational setting is desirable.
Clear evidence of being an experienced and effective leader, alongside the ability to manage day‑to‑day operations, is essential for this on‑site post.
The new Business Manager should have a positive, can‑do attitude and excellent problem‑solving skills.

Pre‑Employment Checks
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more abroad in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. Approval of these checks is a condition of an unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post.
