Reporting to the Chief Engineer – Manufacturing, the primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that the project M-LightEn
(the next generation of iStream) progresses from
the current iStream Superlight (New iStream) technology from an technical and manufacturing perspective and provide support to Gordon Murray Group (GMG), Gordon Murray Advanced Engineering (GMAE) & Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) M-LightEn project team in order that the company can deliver future Gordon Murray Group vehicle projects in a professional, cost effective and timely manner.
Key Responsibilitie
s
The key elements of the Manufacturing function are to ensure that the New iStream technology is developed and matured from an engineering and manufacturing perspective to allow full production validation through, aiming for Start of Production to commence and go forward unabated as per the portfolio plan, as well as contributing proactively to the continual progression of the iStream process. Additionally, the Manufacturing function provides support to the GMG team during the industrialisation of innovative iStream automotive manufacturing proces
s.
This role is expected to work with GMAE engineering and GMA teams on how to implement the New iStream technology in practice. In some instances, interfaces with Gordon Murray Technologies (GMT) might be required to share learnings. This will involve determining what technical data and information is required and support creating design and manufacturing guidelines for the assembly (bonding / joining and mechanical fixing) of Metallic Nodes and composite parts as the vehicle primary structures. The person filling the role will also be the practical composite assembly expert within the compa
