Overview
Shape and influence project delivery across a major defence aviation programme at Babcock. You will support one of the United Kingdom’s most significant military aviation contracts as a Project Management Lead at Brize Norton, providing central coordination, governance and oversight across a wide portfolio of work within our Aviation business.
Responsibilities
* Lead the coordination, tracking and governance of project requests, proposals and change activity across a complex aviation portfolio.
* Prepare accurate, high‑quality proposals, responses and supporting documentation in line with governance requirements.
* Provide clear reporting on project progress, risks, issues and dependencies, maintaining visibility across all active and upcoming work.
* Manage the lifecycle of customer requests from initial enquiry through to project closure and handover.
* Support communication and alignment between commercial, finance, procurement, delivery teams and customer stakeholders.
Essential experience
* Proven experience in Project Management Office, project coordination or delivery support within a complex operational or regulated environment.
* Experience supporting proposals, requests for quotation and/or change control processes.
* Strong understanding of governance, assurance and structured delivery frameworks.
* Ability to manage multiple projects or workstreams simultaneously.
* Strong commercial writing skills and experience producing high‑quality documentation.
Qualifications
Formal project or PMO qualification (such as PRINCE2, APM or PMO Practitioner) desirable.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role. Positions may be subject to national security clearance and Trade Control restrictions.
