About the Role
As a Senior Utilities Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in delivering PAS 128-compliant utilities surveys, working closely with Survey Leads, project teams, and clients.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused position where you’ll combine on-site surveying with responsibility for data quality, project coordination, and programme delivery. You’ll also support and mentor junior colleagues, helping to build capability across the team.

Key Responsibilities
* Lead PAS 128-compliant utilities surveys from mobilisation through to final handover
* Take ownership of on-site safety, quality, methodology, and delivery
* Locate underground services using electromagnetic locating and GPR equipment
* Carry out total station and GNSS observations
* Process EML and GPR data using AutoCAD, IQMaps, and Geolitix
* Manage and maintain survey data in line with company and project standards
* Collaborate with Survey Leads and project teams to determine the most effective survey methods
* Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other site teams
* Monitor progress, provide updates, and support delivery to programme and budget
* Mentor and support junior surveyors through guidance and feedback
* Work flexibly, including occasional nights or working away from home when required
About You
This role is ideal for an experienced utilities surveyor who is confident working independently and taking ownership on site.
You will likely have:
* Proven experience delivering utilities surveys to PAS 128 standards
* Strong proficiency with GPR, electromagnetic locating, and TPS or GNSS equipment
* Solid AutoCAD skills and experience processing survey data
* The ability to manage multiple priorities across live projects
* A practical, solutions-focused approach in challenging environments
* Strong communication skills when working with clients and site teams
* Experience mentoring or supporting junior surveyors
* Flexibility with working hours and travel
* A full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
