Assistant Building Manager – Central London
Leading International Property Consultancy
I am currently supporting a leading international property consultancy with their search for an Assistant Building Manager for a 230,000 sq ft multi-let commercial building.
The asset is approaching the end of a significant landlord refurbishment, with an occupier preparing to fit out additional space in the new year. The client is committed to delivering a more modern, innovative approach to building management, and this role will play a key part in bringing that vision to life.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Building Manager with strong operational experience who is looking to develop their career within a forward-thinking, service-led environment.
The role requires strong administrative capability, confident communication skills, and a customer-first mindset. You will be closely involved in compliance, service delivery, and supporting the implementation of the building’s modern management strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as a primary contact for occupiers and service providers, ensuring a consistently high standard of service.
* Maintain accurate records, databases, statutory compliance logs, and site documentation.
* Support the implementation of building management procedures, sustainability goals, and ESG initiatives.
* Assist with financial administration including raising POs, processing invoices, and service charge support.
* Coordinate meetings, track actions, and provide clear documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
* Oversee contractor attendance, support the permit-to-work system, and monitor performance and compliance.
* Support the management of the service charge budget and ensure occupiers understand their responsibilities.
* Represent and uphold the client’s modern vision and values at all times.
Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in a commercial property setting, ideally at Assistant Building Manager level.
* Strong customer service skills and experience building positive occupier relationships.
* Understanding of service charge budgets and RICS standards.
* Familiarity with contractor management and permit-to-work processes.
* Awareness of sustainability and ESG factors in property management.
* Excellent administrative and IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office 365.
* Professional communication, a proactive approach, and a willingness to learn.
* IOSH qualification or working towards it.
This role offers the chance to develop within a prestigious building and contribute to a modern, progressive approach to property management. The ideal candidate will be organised, enthusiastic, and keen to help shape a building that sets a benchmark for high-quality service and contemporary management.
