Kennedys is looking for a legal file auditor to join our Risk & Compliance department, which provides expert information, advice, and guidance to the firm on professional responsibility, risk, and compliance issues. The role is within the Quality and Audit Risk team.
Team
The Kennedys Risk & Compliance team oversees a wide range of partnership, risk, and compliance issues for the firm and acts as an in-house legal department assisting with regulatory and professional conduct inquiries.
The Kennedys Quality and Audit Risk team is responsible for delivering the annual lawyer file and relevant business services audit programmes, as well as assisting with client team auditing requirements.
Key responsibilities
* Assist in delivering the annual lawyer file audit programme.
* Provide timely, high-quality audit reports and monitor/correct actions as needed.
* Contribute to internal audit processes across UK and global offices.
* Discuss audit requirements and findings with fee earners, team leaders, and partners.
* Support the delivery of an effective audit process aligned with ISO 9001 accreditation for all offices.
* Help develop and improve internal audit processes within the relevant system.
* Participate in due diligence processes related to audit activities when required.
Required experience
* At least 2 years' experience in legal file management.
* Supervisory, peer review, or file audit experience is preferred.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organizational skills and a proactive approach.
* Ability to handle confidential matters discreetly.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
* Exceptional attention to detail.
